Learning to surf
Costa Rica is a world renowned surfing destination. Take a surf lesson and experience the bliss of gliding on waves. Lessons are for all ages and levels and instructors provide rash guards, boards, leashes and transportation.
If you are more experienced, you can hit one of the many amazing peaks, points or reefs that our long and beautiful stretch of beach has to offer. There are shops with board rentals all over town.
Yoga is one of the most sought after activities in Santa Teresa. Flowing and balancing through yogic postures, while stretching and strengthening the body, allows you to gain a better control of your body and mind through breathing. It is a great complement to surfing but non-surfers equally benefit from yoga.
Up and down Santa Teresa and Mal Pais there are many beautiful places where you can practice different types of yoga at various times of the day.
Set off on a fishing trip with the local fishermen and discover the Pacific waters on a motor boat. Your catch could include Yellow Fin Tuna, Mahi-Mahi, Red Snapper, Grouper, Rooster Fish and other game fish. The captain will clean and filet your fish for you to take home and cook.
Venture a Kayak adventure in the ocean's open waters or in one of the local rivers. You can fish from your kayak or just enjoy paddling around and taking in the panoramic views of the coast and the ocean. Whales, dolphins and turtles are often sighted.
Cruising the dirt roads on an Atv is the most fun and practical way to get around in Mal Pais/Santa Teresa. Atv's are widely available for rent, you can drive around on your own or go on a tour with a local guide. You will experience the back roads, go up every hill to see all the stunning viewpoints, cross jungles and rivers and drive along the beach.
Visit Tortuga Island
Set out on a day trip to Isla Tortuga, a pristine white sand Island off the coast of Costa Rica. You will enjoy a 1 hour boat ride with breath-taking views of the Pacific Ocean and the Costa Rican coastlines and if you are lucky you could spot some dolphins, jumping manta rays, turtles or even whales.
Once on the white-sand island paradise, you can spend the day snorkeling, hiking, swimming, relaxing and enjoy a delicous picnic lunch on the beach. What a perfect way to spend the day!
Visit the charming beach village of Montezuma and it's gorgeous waterfalls. Only 40 minutes away by car or ATV, Montezuma has some beautiful beaches. It's a lovely place to spend the day, visiting the wateralls in the morning, enjoying a typical lunch and spending the afternoon browsing through the local artesania on the town streets.
Hiking in the Jungle
Take a nature hike through the nature reserves of Cabo Blanco or the Curu National Park. There are a variety or beautiful trails in those locations with great opportunities for wildlife sightings and panoramic views of all sorts adding up to a thoroughly enjoyable day of fun and adventure.
Get a Massage
